		<abstract>The Rhyacian Chega Tudo Formation and the Tromaí Intrusive Suite, in the basement of the Neoproterozoic Gurupi Orogenic Belt, host several shear-zone related hydrothermal gold mineralizations considered as mesozonal orogenic gold deposits (Klein et al., 2005). Reflectance spectroscopy data, acquired by the ASD-FieldSpec-3 Hi-Resolution spectrometer in laboratory measurements applied to samples of predominantly felsic to intermediate volcanic rocks from the Chega Tudo Formation, and intermediate plutonic rocks from the Tromaí Intrusive Suite, were analyzed for the characterization of hydrothermal alteration mineralogical assemblages. The results demonstrate the efficiency of spectral analysis in identifying the typical mineral assemblages of the three main alteration zones related to orogenic gold systems. In the rocks of the Chega Tudo Formation volcanosedimentary sequence Fe/Mg-chlorite (+/- minor carbonate +/- minor sericite) were recognized in the distal or Chlorite zone; Fe-carbonate (+/- potassic to phengitic sericite +/- chlorite) in the intermediate or Carbonate zone; and phengitic or tending to phengitic sericite (+/- minor carbonate) in the proximal or White Mica-Pyrite zone. In the Chega Tudo volcanic sequence the distal zone is characterized by Fe or Fe/Mg-chlorite (+/- minor potassic sericite); the intermediate zone mineralogy includes muscovite associated to Fe-chlorite and rare carbonate; and the proximal zone is characterized by phengite (+/- minor Fe-chlorite). In the Tromaí Suite, hornblende and epidote from original or metamorphic paragenesis were recognized in association with Fe/Mg-Chlorite and tending to phengitic sericite in more unaltered rocks and distal zones while hornblende is absent in the more proximal zones dominated by phengitic sericite.</abstract>
